1) FIRST, THE
ECONOMY: Last year's predicitons of mine regarding the economy were
nearly 100%, including predicting the trend of the stock market, but
we'll see about this year. In terms of the stock market, a major correction
in Dow Jones prices will occur (perhaps about a thousand points) prior
to spring, then a recovery in summer, finishing at year's end higher
than where we started the year. Nonetheless, recession will still
remain. But overall, as I've stated since a year ago December,
we must look at this long-term, and we are in a 7 to 8 year cycle
that evolves to a kind of Renaissance in the economy with incredible
invention, resourcefulness and discovery resulting in new businesses,
better times for current businesses, and thus more jobs and major
growth in the economy. (Note: Always seek the advice of a professional
financial advisor, do your research, and utilize your own intuition
and knowledge before making investments.) So far on target.
2) EMPLOYMENT: The job situation improves slightly with more people employed in 2010, with the most significant jumps in employment occurring at the end of spring and at year's end. Nevertheless, we won't have as many people back to work as we would all like, but it's an improvement. So far on target, especially with the jobs report released on March 30th. 3) THE PRESIDENT: Though his approval has been slipping
over the last 5 months of 2009, President Obama's approval ratings
this year will rise by the end of summer.
4) There will
be a cabinet resignation at the White House.
5) Health
care reform will be signed into law, but even though the house and
senate each passed a version of a health care bill, it will still
undergo significant changes, part of which will include (SURPRISINGLY)
the so-called "public option," or something like it as part of the
bill. A HIT. btw: When this prediciton was made (January
1st), health care legislation was "dead in the water" and not considered
even a remote possibility by many pundits and commentators.
6)
A rabbi will help save the life of a priest.
7) Donald
Trump will change his hair style.

8) There will be an unexpected silence at the Grammy Awards. A
HIT. Late in the telecast, during a production number with Eminem,
Lil Wayne and Drake, the sound went on the fritz with the sound going
dead for seconds on end, over and over.
9) THE HURT LOCKER will
win the best picture award at the Oscars. A HIT
10) Mo'Nique
will win the best supporting actress award for PRECIOUS at the Oscars,
and I'm "hunching" that Jeff Bridges will win an Oscar for best actor.TWO HITS (And re: predictions 9, 10 and 11, these are stated at
New Years time which is several weeks prior to the nominations
being announced. Also, at that time, AVATAR was the film getting all
the buzz. This marks the 11th year out of 12 that all of the Oscar
predictions are accurate. The other year, 2008, only one was wrong.)
11)
Kathryn Bigelow wins the Best Director award at the Oscars. A HIT
12) Tiger Woods, in spite of his announced
leave of absence, will return to the golf circuit and though he fails
in smaller tournaments, he will win another major this year or the
following Spring. HALF A HIT SO FAR.
13) Singing sensation Susan Boyle "lives a dream" instead of just "dreaming a dream" in that she finds a bit of romance. 14) Ellen DeGeneres is a huge hit as the new judge on AMERICAN IDOL. Though good, Ellen has NOT been a "huge hit" so far. 15) Jennifer Anniston will find a great love relationship within the next 6 to 20 months. That period is the cycle for which all the elements will be right. Plus, he will be someone about 8 to 12 years older, and not an actor. 16) The numbers 1, 8 and 23 are somehow important in the grand scheme of things this year. |

|
17) There will occur two major tremors/earthquakes on the west
coast with a minimum 5.2 on the Richter scale. A HIT. On April
3rd, two significant quakes occurred in Baja and California.
18) Norah Jones has a brush with danger on a tour. In the end, all is good. 19)
A strange chemical is found in a subway of a major city,
probably either Chicago, Boston or New York. A HIT. Suicide bombing in
Moscow.
20) And as always, (Why should I stop prognisticating
this?), I predict the Chicago Cubs will make it to the World Series.
